ABSTRACT

The corona virus pandemic has made severe changes to our lifestyle, thereby, indirectly affecting our physical and psychological well-being.: how we work, socialize. With the global pandemic still in the process of altering the definition of "normal life” across the planet, most industries are still scrambling to cope up. Electronic-commerce (e-commerce) is the buying and selling of services and products, or the transmitting of data or funds, over a network, primarily the web. Business to business (B2B), business to consumer (B2C), consumer to consumer or consumer-to-business are the different types of business transactions. The terms e commerce and e business are often interchangeable. The term e tail is used in addition to the reference in transaction processes for online shopping. E-Commerce platform with modern technologies which is MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js) Stack. Agriculture specific functionality which incorporates selling agriculture related products. By this platform farmers will get exposure and farmers will receive their profits directly through the web site. E-Commerce platform includes PAN India support (including rural). Farmers will get a precise idea of what they are buying with the help of description provided by the admin. Ideal agro e commerce can make a remarkable benefit to "developing” countries. Make transactions risk-free and help track resource expenditure. ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic has had a hard impact on all educational sectors where access to schools, educational institutions, and university campuses is forcibly halted. In this context, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research urged teachers to move from face-to-face to online learning to mitigate the spread of the virus, keep up the regular schedule and save the academic year. This paper highlights the issues, perspectives, and pedagogical practices of the instructors' overnight change, switching pre-existing face-to-face learning to the online environment. It also refers to the challenge of those learners lacking intercultural communication skills needed to participate virtually. The researchers used the documentary research method to develop their leading research question and analyse existing research documents and other e-sources of information such as university and government reports, newspapers, PDF books, papers, and YouTube channels to collect relevant data for this study. As a result, we could illustrate the Algerian universities' response and analyse government and university sources such as newspaper articles and ministry decrees. Therefore, we believe that the emergency to digitalize teaching in our higher institutions is a significant opportunity to keep engaged in the online environment now and after the pandemic and take advantage of the universities' best pedagogical practices. Thus, prepare for the online shift to better address the digital divide by promoting equal opportunities for all students to access the Internet, possess and effectively use Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) to fully participate in the modern educational system.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the impact of using web vinnarrai.com as an e-learning tool on a physics course (fluid mechanics) in Universitas Negeri Jakarta (an Indonesian University) to increase student creative thinking skills through educational management. The study employed a quasi-experimental method, with the pre-test and post-test control group design. There are four indicators of creative thinking skills: fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration. The sample of this research comprised 216 students at the Universitas Negeri Jakarta, from September 2020 to January 2021. The data were analyzed by determining the percentages of average normalized gains and obtained the n-gain score of 0.71 (high category), the effect size score of 0.81(moderate effect), and Cohen's standard score of 79% (Cohen's standard: high). The results of this research -- by knowing the influence of vinnarrai.com web on a fluid -- showed an increased score of students' creative thinking skills in an experiment class, using website, as compared with a controlled-class, using text-book. So, using a "website-based e-learning" is indicated to have improved the students' creative thinking skills in the pandemic era.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine the readability levels of the state departments of education guidance documents regarding COVID-19 protocols for families of students receiving special education services. The authors searched the 50 states and the District of Columbia's departments of education websites for their COVID-19, special education, parental guidance documents for the 2020-2021 school year. Parental guidance documents were available from 90% (46/51) of the department of education websites with 61% (31/51) of those documents specifically designed for parents of children receiving special education services. The researchers used the Flesch Reading Ease (FRES) to analyze the reading level of the 31 documents that the departments of education websites created for families of individuals receiving special education services. The FRES score was 43.05, indicating that the average reading difficulty was "difficult" with a "college reading level." The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level (FKGL) average score for the reviewed documents revealed an average U.S. grade level of 12.34. Thus, documents produced during the COVID-19 pandemic significantly exceeded the appropriate reading level recommended by the current research (Nagro & Stein, 2016). To improve communication and provide caregivers with the necessary information to make informed decisions regarding their children's educational need during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential for parental guidance documents to be written at lower reading levels to accommodate the general population.

ABSTRACT

This research study aims at drawing a comparison between some internet emerging applications used for machine translation (MT) and a human translation (HT) to two of Alphonse Daudet's short stories: "The Siege of Berlin" and "The Bad Zouave." The automatic translation has been carried out by four MT online applications (i.e. Translate Dict, Yandex, Mem-Source, and Reverso) that have come to light in the wake of COVID-19 breakout, whereas the HT was carried out by Hassouna in 2018. The results revealed that MT and HT made some errors related to (a) polysemy, (b) homonymy, (c) syntactic ambiguities, (d) fuzzy hedges, (e) synonyms, (f) metaphors and symbols. The results also showed that Yandex has dealt with polysemy much better than HT in "The Siege of Berlin," but the opposite has been noticed in "The Bad Zouave." Another crucial result is that HT has excelled all MT systems in homonymy and syntactic ambiguities in the two literary texts. A final result is that both MT and HT have dealt with fuzzy hedges at similar rates with little supremacy on the part of Reverso, whereas MemSource and Translate Dict have dealt with synonyms in the two literary texts much better than HT. The study concluded that EFL learners should be aware of the fact that in spite of the advantageousness of MT systems, their inadequacies should not be overlooked and handled with post-editing.

ABSTRACT

The emergent COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan, China, at the end of 2019 has affected the whole world in a short time. Therefore, schools have been closed worldwide, and online learning opportunities have been exploited. Although lessons are taught online, problems have been experienced about measuring and evaluating lessons. This quasi-experimental study with a quantitative method was conducted to offer suggestions for the measurement problems. The present study examined the relationship between the measures of academic achievement obtained through different approaches from the students studying at a university. According to the results, the achievement points earned by the students through weekly blogs had a high level of correlation with the traditional final scores. However, the scores of the practices such as online exams and term papers were not an acceptable fit with the final exams. Therefore, the scores of online missions extended over time can be claimed to be the approach that best substitutes the final exams.

ABSTRACT

This article deals with the relationship between the Holocaust and antisemitism, focusing on the events of 2020-2021. The point of departure is the fifth World Holocaust Forum at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, held under the slogan: "Remembering the Holocaust, fighting antisemitism". The event took place at the invitation of Israel's president, Reuven Rivlin, in advance of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 23, 2020). Content analysis of the speeches given by presidents and prime ministers from around the world reinforce the insights of the Holocaust and the association with current-day antisemitism. In March 2020 the COVID-19 virus appeared, and a wave of antisemitism surfaced with it. Analysis of contents that appeared on websites and social networks reveals vitriolic antisemitism against Jews as generators of the virus, being the virus themselves. This study utilized the method of anthropologist Clifford Geertz (1926-2006), who established the interpretive approach to anthropology for analyzing culture contents. This, with regard to content analysis in general and to the contents of social networks and their contribution to antisemitism, in particular. Operation "Guardian of the Walls" in Gaza in 2021 further fanned antisemitism. Content analysis of websites and social networks portrays the Jewish soldier as a Nazi soldier and all Jews as murderers -- with all the Holocaust symbols and Holocaust language. The study seeks to examine whether and to what degree the educational system in general and guides of youth trips to Poland as mediators of memory in particular, are prepared for the educational challenge of eradicating antisemitism in the post-Holocaust era. The research findings show that the challenge still awaits us. Education is an essential instrument in the battle against antisemitism but the educational system, both formal and informal, is not prepared.

ABSTRACT

Web 2.0 brought the development of social networks and new elements of interaction that were incorporated into Web sites and devices that supported them. In the field of museums, the emergence of Web 2.0 and Museum 2.0 has made it possible to improve access to information regarding art collections. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, museums have opted for the introduction of technology permitting virtual access to their collections. However, many applications were developed using traditional development process without considering a methodology dedicated to extended reality applications. This paper describes a methodology for the implementation of extended reality applications to exhibition spaces in museums. Using a quasi-experiment, we evaluate the data collection stage of the proposed methodology to develop an extended reality application to visit exhibition spaces in a museum. Results show that the proposed methodology helps to the software engineers/designers in the development process of extended reality applications. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: As many people relied on information from the Internet for official scientific or academically affiliated information during the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of information on those websites should be good. OBJECTIVE: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate a selection of COVID-19-related websites for the quality of health information provided. METHOD: Using Google and Yahoo, 36 English language websites were selected, in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The two tools were selected for evaluation were the Health on the Net (HON) Code and the 16-item DISCERN tool. RESULTS: Most websites (39%) were related to information for the public, and a small number of them (3%) concerned screening websites in which people could be informed of their possible condition by entering their symptoms. The result of the evaluation by the HON tool showed that most websites were reliable (53%), and 44% of them were very reliable. Based on the assessment results of the Likert-based 16-item DISCERN tool, the maximum and minimum values for the average scores of each website were calculated as 2.44 and 4.25, respectively. CONCLUSION: Evaluation using two widely accepted tools shows that most websites related to COVID-19 are reliable and useful for physicians, researchers and the public.

ABSTRACT

Using a unique triangulation of a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative and observational techniques, this research investigated international student perceptions of the usability, interactivity and inclusiveness of a university website. The research was guided by the activity theory. Qualitative data were analysed to understand international student perceptions of usability and interactivity in relation to their intentions to use the university website. Additionally, findings established the significance of making university websites more inclusive as international students continue to face increasing uncertainties owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and racial inequalities in the USA and worldwide. Observational methods provided methodological and data triangulation. This research offers guidance for future research on higher education digital learning tools based on integrated theoretical mixed methods and also provides managerial implications for academic institutions in the design of student-centred and inclusive websites.

ABSTRACT

The growth of e-commerce and the ageing of the world population converges in a situation which represents significant challenges for the economy: a large population of over 65year-olds with major limitations for online shopping. The digital division, although reduced in certain sectors, in others, such as ecommerce persists. This research involves the study of 405 subjects, Spanish seniors aged between 60 and 79, to discover and analyse the barriers, motivators and behaviour with regards to shopping online. Using a telephone survey and a random sample, a typology of users was established as per their behaviour and perception of e-commerce. The main finding is the segmentation in eleven typologies of users, identified through cluster analysis. The major conclusions confirm the barriers related to data security or levels of confidence. Furthermore, with basic digital skills, seniors consider themselves capable of completing purchases on the Internet. Online shoppers feel empowered being digitally self-sufficient, while non-shoppers desiring to be independent, require the implementation of measures to aid the process on commercial websites.

ABSTRACT

We investigate the dynamic correlation between the Bitcoin price (BTC) and the U.S. economic policy uncertainty index (USEPU) from the perspective of multifractality. Utilizing the multifractal detrended cross-correlation analysis (MF-DCCA), we confirm a long-range cross-correlation between BTC and USEPU. Moreover, the empirical results of MF-DCCA show that the power-law properties and multifractal characteristics between BTC and USEPU are significant. We further examine the long-range dependency of cross-correlation between BTC and USEPU series via the Hurst exponent test and confirm the durable cross-correlation. Finally, we introduce another multifractal indicator and examine the extent of multifractality among time series. The empirical results indicate that the BTC series, USEPU series, and the cross-correlation of BTC-USEPU present apparent multifractality, where BTC shows the strongest degree of multifractality.
